Indigenous remains return home to Boort

On Saturday the 4th May, the bodies of three indigenous Australians were reburied on their home soil after decades in storage at the Museum of Melbourne.

Members of the Yung Balug clan, they died in the mid 19th century, and were handed over to white authorities when they were accidentally dug up near Boort in the 1970s.

The special event was held on Paul Haw’s property on the eastern shore of Big Lake Boort.
