Soil health workshops: Utilising visual soil assessments to improve soil and plant health
Are you looking for simple tools to assess and monitor soil quality?
Interested in how to improve your soil health, plant performance and farm profits?
Expressions of interest (EOI) are now being accepted for soil health workshops in Wedderburn (5 August) and Waubra (6 August).
The one-day workshops will cover:
- Cheap and easy tools to assess soil condition and plant performance.
- Soil fertility and smart farming – it’s more than NPKS.
- Balancing the four key aspects of farming: sustained profitability, good environmental outcomes, production of quality food and a high quality of life.
- Increasing soil health AND profit.
- Measures to maximise plant water use efficiency.
The course will be presented by New Zealand soil scientist and agricultural consultant Graham Shepherd, from BioAgriNomics. Graham developed the Visual Soil Assessment method after many years of research and experience. It has now been adopted as the national standard throughout New Zealand for assessing and monitoring soil quality.
